Overview

This 1930’s brick home was in strong need of a kitchen redo both for style, flow and function. The home had beautiful historic woodwork throughout, gorgeous views to the green yard and landscape, a well-proportioned sunken living room, and a compact footprint that lends itself to more connected spaces.

We created an open relationship between the enlarged kitchen and the more traditional dining room, and allowed the den/sunroom to be less cut off. All of the spaces now have a better relationship to one another and lovely views and connections to the greenery from the outdoors and decks. The dark craftsman interior woodwork prevalent in the ceiling beams and staircase in the foyer and hallways create a moody atmosphere and nice transition into the more open and light filled updated kitchen and dining spaces. The darker palette of blues, camel leathers and rich woods, along with the the globally influenced tile work and wallcovering weave a sophisticated language throughout.
